Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy

Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy blends Western psychotherapeutic theory with Eastern contemplative practices.

Therapy offers us the opportunity to explore our challenges and difficulties in the presence of a compassionate witness. My approach is strongly somatic, the process involves attuning and honouring the insights and the adaptations the body reveals.

The difficulties we face today often have their roots in unresolved past experiences. These can often cloud the lens through which we view ourselves, our relationships and the world. Our work together will involve increasing awareness, learning perspective taking, building inner resources and relearning a sense of safety. My commitment is to help you to negotiate life with ease and purpose.

My work is strongly influenced by that of Dr Stephen Porges, Dr Peter Levine, Dr Gabor Maté, Dr Bessel Van der Kolk and Dr Daniel Siegal. It is a trauma informed, and depth relational approach to therapy. I believe that being truly seen, heard and responded to compassionately is healing, in and of itself.
